FSU University Singers Perform at FPC

We are delighted to welcome the University Singers from Florida State University (FSU) back to First Presbyterian Church (FPC) as part of our annual Performing Arts Series. The group, under the direction of Kevin Fenton, always provides an exceptional performance.

The concert will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, March 9 in the FPC Sanctuary. All are invited. There is no admission fee.

Founded in 1948 by Dr. Wiley Housewright, the University Singers is the premier undergraduate touring choir at FSU. The auditioned choir consists of students majoring in music and other degree programs.

The choir has been invited to perform at national and regional conventions of the College Music Society and the American Choral Directors Association. Recent tours have included performances throughout the Southeastern United States and throughout Europe.

Fenton is professor of choral conducting and ensembles and director of the FSU University Singers and Collegians. In addition, he has conducted the Virginia Tech Meistersingers as well as the Festival Singers of Florida, which has also appeared at FPC. Members of the FPC congregation, including Sam Carlton, Classic Worship Arts Director, are members of Festival Singers.
