Giving is a vital part of worship.

First Presbyterian Church strives to be a wise and responsible steward of the gifts and resources God has provided.

Stewardship centers on giving one’s self to God in Christ and reorienting each person’s life around the lord and his Word. God must come first in our lives and his priorities need to become our priorities. The Bible speaks of being good stewards. A steward is grateful to God for all his good gifts, and therefore, is willing to give back to God a portion of his or her income to support the Lord’s work.

In 2 Corinthians, Chapter 9, Paul writes to believers to, “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

Members are encouraged to pledge their offerings each year and make a commitment. Giving is in response to God’s grace. It shows our trust in Him. At First Presbyterian Church, we embark on a journey of generosity.
