You are also invited to begin the day at 10 am at our Spirit of Service meeting in Room A.

The presentation will be about the Florida Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program and ways you can use their services or volunteer. Unfortunately, some who live in long-term care facilities experience inadequate care that jeopardizes their health and quality of life. Often afraid or unable to advocate for themselves, these residents need an advocate – someone to be a voice for the voiceless. That is where the Florida Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program steps in. They are a collection of volunteers who advocate on the resident’s behalf for residents’ rights and attempt to resolve the complaint or concern. All their services are confidential and free of charge.

There is an optional lunch at 11:30 am for $10 per person. (RSVP to 863-686-7187 or oam@fpclakeland.org by March 8 for lunch.) Reservations are only needed for the lunch, not the program or Health & Resource Fair.
