Sunday, October 30 | 10:30 am Classic Service
On Sunday October 30, we will have a Kirkin’ of the Tartans, a ceremony that is a blessing of the families. A bagpiper will lead the way down the center aisle followed by people carrying banners made of tartan cloth. Families with Scottish roots are invited to have their lineage represented with a tartan banner during the worship service.
Blessing of families not of Scottish decent will be included that day. We will be broadening the language during the Kirkin’ of the Tartans to include people of every background, or, in the words of Revelation 7:9, of “every nation, tribe, people and language.” The reason for the Scottish emphasis is because it allows us to honor our Scottish theological roots as a starting point of that blessing.
