Wednesday nights during the fall and spring are family nights at FPC Lakeland, featuring activities and discipleship classes for children, youth and adults.
Wednesday Night dinners
We start each week’s activities at 5:15 p.m. with dinner in Room A. We have a varied menu each week as we join around the table for food, fellowship, fun and prayer time. If you enjoy a good meal, lots of laughter and the feel of family, we invite you to join us each week.
Meals include salad, a main entrée, dessert and beverages. Cost: $7.50.
Dinner Reservation: Please contact Jackie Hansen by email or at 686.7187 by noon on Tuesday to confirm your attendance. Reservation slips are also available throughout the church. Reservations are made one week at a time.
Wednesday Night Kids Club is from 6 – 7:30 p.m. for grades K- 5. The first half hour the children will be served pizza and enjoy games. After that, the children experience a time of recreation, Bible teaching and crafts. Best of all, it’s fun. The children build friendships and character each week as they explore different topics from the Bible.
(Kids Club will not meet during the Christmas holiday or during the summer months.)
Wednesday Night “Surrender” is our youth group gathering from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Our youth are learning about God’s Word in an environment where they are challenged to look beyond themselves and at the world at large.
Our youth have a wide variety of activities planned through the summer. For more information about their events, contact Brian Morgan, Director of Student Ministries, at 863.686.7187.
For adults, Wednesday nights feature a broad range of classes and groups. Some meet year-round, others are short-term. Our 2018 Fall Wed Classes include a women’s study group and the Older Adult Ministry’s class, “Get You Home By Dark.”
We have three distinct choirs – as well as a handbell choir – that enhance our worship experiences by bringing the messages to life in music.
Our Chancel Choir sings in most Sunday Classic services and often performs at special concerts and events. Everyone is invited to participate.
Jubiliation specializes in singing sacred music from a variety of genres and often presents the music at the 8:15 a.m. Classic services.
The Chapel Ensemble is an auditioned choir that sings sacred choral music from the Western Art tradition. They perform at various services and concerts during the year.
For more information on the choirs, contact Dr. Daniel Gordon, Director of Fine Arts Ministries.
