Welcome to FPC! It is an amazing, God-sent gift to have you as part of our worshiping, serving, and growing community of faith…as part of our “Light on the Lake!”
All visitors and frequent attenders, whether they plan to join FPC as active members or not, are welcome to participate fully and actively in any ministry, class, group, program, mission or outreach of our church, no strings attached!
All our repeat visitors are also urged to contact the church if they have any need for pastoral care, counseling, or visitation in their times of spiritual, mental or physical difficulty.
Visitors are encouraged to pursue opportunities for spiritual growth (like Institute and Sunday School classes, small groups and circles, etc.) as well as participate in the many fellowship opportunities (Wed. night dinners, picnics and special events). These experiences will help you get in touch with your faith and develop strong connections with your spiritual family!
Becoming an Active Member of FPC
We believe active membership in a church is an important step for anyone looking to grow and mature their faith. FPC’s core of Active Members is the solid foundation upon which the incredible ministry of our church is based. Our outreach, mission, work for peace and justice, and ministries of care and compassion in the world are impossible without the time, talent and treasure of our active members! We know this is an important decision and want to give you every opportunity to learn more about us.
If you have been attending FPC and want to know more about becoming a member, you are invited to a New Member Orientation luncheon held 6 Sundays per year. This informative seminar, led by Pastors Loudon and Sumey, gives you important insight into the Christian faith, our Presbyterian connection, and the mission and ministry of FPC. It also gives you a chance to meet and develop lasting friendships with other newcomers and frequent attenders.
Contact the church office at 686-7187 or email Bev Jones at bev.jones@fpclakeland.org to learn more about the next New Member Orientation session.
